Düsseldorf start-up SituatiVe GmbH (founder and managing director Lennart Wulff) selling short-term situational insurance under the AppSichern brand via iOS/Android app and web, e.g. cycling, stadium, hotel, business-trip or daycare-outing cover for 24 hours at EUR 1.49-3.99, with insurers such as Haftpflichtkasse Darmstadt and Kiln.
2026 reality
The appsichern.de domain now hosts an unrelated online casino comparison site; no current AppSichern insurance offer and no coverage of the company after 2016 were found.
Launched in July 2013 with six products underwritten with Haftpflichtkasse Darmstadt and Kiln; by September 2014 it offered 18 micro-insurance products, including an Oktoberfest accident cover with Die Bayerische that consumer advocates criticised. In an April 2016 interview the founder described SituatiVe as a self-funded, fully digital 'Assekuradeur' selling direct to consumers and, increasingly, through brokers, distributors and insurers as a B2B partner, and planning markets outside Germany. No closure, sale or successor information was found; the domain has since been repurposed.
