As catalogued
Ethereum smart-contract protocol for peer-to-peer supplemental unemployment insurance that used LinkedIn as a reputation and identity layer and let existing policyholders underwrite and validate claims instead of an insurer.
2026 reality
The dynamisapp.com domain now hosts the old project text interleaved with online-casino spam links (observed 2026-10-17), indicating the project is no longer maintained. A GitHub organisation with a dynamisapp repository remains.
The project, a peer-to-peer supplemental unemployment insurance protocol on Ethereum, was created in March 2015 and planned to test its mechanism in Q1 2016; contemporary reviews describe it as not having opened beyond a beta. By early 2018 its creator Joshua Davis was reported to be working on a new initiative, Peerback, a crowdfunding refund platform rather than insurance. No evidence of a launched, operating insurance product was found.
an early and frequently cited blockchain P2P insurance (insurance DAO) concept; relevant as a precursor of later DeFi mutual-cover protocols.
Third taxonomy
REVIEW · Fetched the Coverager article: it dates from about January 2018 (not 2017) and describes Dynamis as P2P supplemental unemployment insurance; corrected milestone date and source date. Discontinuation remains inferred.
