As catalogued
Shared-value health and wellness programme licensed from Discovery (South Africa): Generali customers earn points and status for healthy behaviour (tracked partly via wearables and apps) and receive rewards and premium benefits on life and disability policies. Generali holds the continental-European rights since 2014 and launched in Germany in July 2016.
2026 reality
In July 2021 Generali and Vitality Group extended their European partnership until year-end 2028, at which point the programme ran in Germany, France, Austria and Spain with Italy, the Czech Republic and Poland to follow. No source found reports an early termination; the catalogued domain generalivitality.com no longer resolves, and no current (2025-2026) programme page was located.
Expanded from a German add-on to term life and occupational disability policies (2016) to Austria (2017, as a stand-alone membership not tied to an insurance contract), France and Spain, and per the 2021 renewal to Italy (including a business version with Generali Welion), the Czech Republic and Poland.
the 2021 renewal framed Vitality as part of Generali's lifetime-partner strategy, moving from a product feature for life insurance toward a broader multi-market engagement programme.
one of the largest European deployments of the Discovery Vitality behavioural-insurance model; its current scale and form in 2026 are not documented in the sources found.
Third taxonomy
REVIEW · Verified the 2028 renewal against Generali's press release (dated 2021-07-29; Spain live June 2021, Italy 2021, CZ/PL 2022) and added the 2019 decision not to launch a behaviour-based private health tariff (Ärzte Zeitung). Searches found no termination notice and no 2025-2026 programme evidence, so the record stays REVIEWED.
