As catalogued
Roundcube, a cloud-based 'smart mid-office' from Dutch insurance software vendor CCS (built partly on Software AG's webMethods) sitting between insurers' and intermediaries' back-office and front-end systems to manage multiple products and lines across channels.
2026 reality
The catalogued URL (ccs.nl/roundcube) now shows only a Roundcube Webmail login. CCS markets a modular Digital Insurance Platform with front office, a mid-office product and integration platform ('Product Engine') and LEVEL back office, claiming more than 2,000 companies use it, including Marsh, Allianz, De Goudse, Howden and MS Amlin.
Private-equity firm Avedon Capital Partners took a minority stake in CCS in December 2014 to fund international expansion (via Roundcube Holding, a new parent of the CCS group). The Roundcube brand is no longer marketed; its mid-office function appears to continue as part of CCS's Digital Insurance Platform.
CCS is an established Dutch insurance software vendor for the intermediary and authorised-agent market; the mid-office is one module of a broader suite.
Third taxonomy
REVIEW · Verified the December 2014 Avedon minority stake and Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Nederland as client via Computable, and that ccs.nl/roundcube shows only a webmail login (the open-source Roundcube webmail, not a CCS product page); no later sale or majority change found, so company status stays 'unclear' and 'absorbed' remains an inference.
