Swiss health insurer CSS paying supplementary-insurance customers a step bonus (CHF 0.40 per day with at least 10,000 steps, CHF 0.20 for 7,500-9,999; maximum CHF 146 a year) tracked by activity trackers in the myCSS client portal.
2026 reality
The English myStep page returns HTTP 404, but CSS's French and Italian 'mystep.html' URLs now host the active365 app. Operated by eTherapists GmbH for CSS, active365 awards activePoints for daily steps (7,500 steps plus one in-app exercise per the English and French pages; the German page says 10,000) and for movement, mindfulness, learning and prevention goals, worth up to CHF 400 a year. Payouts require CSS supplementary or property insurance; CSS states that more than 50,000 people use the app daily.
SRF reported in October 2016 that about 6,000 customers had joined myStep within three months of launch, following a pilot in the second half of 2015. The step bonus has since been folded into the broader active365 health app, which rewards steps alongside other health activities and raises the annual maximum from CHF 146 to CHF 400; the date of the transition was not found.
