As catalogued
In-car crash recorder offered by Allianz Suisse to drivers under 30 in exchange for a lower motor premium; recorded data supported accident reconstruction and encouraged responsible driving.
2026 reality
The catalog Crash Recorder URL now shows Allianz Suisse's general car insurance page, which lists liability, casco, accident and optional add-ons and links to the Allianz Plus bonus programme, but mentions no crash recorder or telematics discount. No current Allianz Suisse crash recorder offer was found.
Allianz Suisse launched the free crash recorder with a premium reduction for drivers under 30 in June 2010; in September 2018 Comparis still named Allianz, with AXA and Die Mobiliar, among insurers offering crash recorders to young drivers on a voluntary basis. By 2026 it is no longer presented on Allianz Suisse's car insurance pages; no discontinuation notice was found. Competitor AXA likewise no longer allows the crash recorder to be included in new car policies.
an early Swiss behaviour-linked motor proposition for young drivers; crash-recorder discounts appear to have faded in Swiss retail motor insurance.
Third taxonomy
REVIEW · Verified the 2010 launch press release and the current Allianz Suisse car page (no crash recorder) and AXA's withdrawal page. Corrected the 2018 milestone: the 15% premium reduction was not supported (coverage attributes 15% to AXA's accident figures); replaced it with Comparis/Moneycab (2018-09-07) naming Allianz among providers. Discontinuation remains inferred, so confidence stays low.
