As catalogued
A London start-up that turned open web data into underwriting insight, letting commercial insurers assess risks without claims history.
2026 reality
Cytora describes itself as 'the risk digitization and automation platform for commercial insurance', powered by agentic AI. It digitises and routes submissions for new business, renewals, claims and mid-term adjustments for commercial insurers, wholesale brokers and MGAs (customers include Zurich, Chubb and Markel). Applied Systems lists Cytora in its 'Family of Brands'.
Cytora shifted from AI risk scoring that combined external data with insurers' own data (its 2019 positioning) to AI-driven intake, digitisation and workflow automation of commercial insurance submissions, launching Autopilot in March 2026. Applied Systems acquired it in September 2025; the Cytora brand continues.
submission-intake automation addressed a larger, more immediate operational pain for commercial insurers than alternative risk data. Generative and agentic AI made unstructured-document digitisation commercially viable.
a leading AI submission-ingestion and triage platform for commercial lines, strengthened by Applied Systems' broker and carrier distribution.
