What became of it
Completed · High confidence · Last verified 2026-10-17
As catalogued
Swiss cloud-native payments orchestration layer built for insurers, connecting carriers to multiple payment providers for collections and pay-outs through one integration and letting customers choose how they are paid.
2026 reality
Owned by Duck Creek Technologies since January 2023. The Imburse brand is no longer used: the former Duck Creek Payments Orchestrator URL now presents 'Duck Creek Embedded Payments', a payments orchestration product in Duck Creek's Beyond Core portfolio for P&C insurers, with open APIs, routing rules and native integration with Duck Creek policy, billing and claims.
Acquired by core-system vendor Duck Creek (agreement announced 5 January 2023, completion reported 26 January 2023, price undisclosed). The platform was rebranded Duck Creek Payments Orchestrator, used as the base of a Payments Marketplace with Paymentus (February 2025), and is now marketed as Duck Creek Embedded Payments.
payments were a missing module for core-platform vendors; folding a specialised orchestration layer into a policy/billing suite strengthens Duck Creek's end-to-end offer.
one of the few insurance-specific payments orchestration platforms; its value now lies mainly in Duck Creek's integrated billing and claims-payment stack.
Third taxonomy
