As catalogued
London insurtech using AI and alternative (web and social) data to give insurers and brokers insight into SME risks, aimed at closing the under-insurance gap in the SME market.
2026 reality
Digital Fineprint no longer exists as a separate business: Glasgow usage-based commercial broker hubb acquired it (announced 6 December 2021) and merged its team into hubb. hubb rebranded as Taveo in September 2023, and JMG Group acquired Taveo's insurance broking trade and assets in October 2025, with the team joining JMG's Greenwood Moreland.
Moved from a stand-alone data/AI provider to insurers and brokers to an in-house capability of a single SME broker: hubb bought DFP for an undisclosed sum to speed up quoting and provide risk insight, and DFP's CTO Ulrich Zink took a business-wide role. The acquiring broker was itself rebranded (Taveo, 2023) and sold (JMG Group, 2025).
SME risk-data start-ups struggled to sell stand-alone to insurers; folding the capability into a digital broker gave it a captive distribution use case.
the alternative-data SME risk-insight approach now survives, if at all, only as an internal tool inside a UK broker group; no distinct DFP offer is visible in 2026.

REVIEW · Verified hubb acquisition (Insurance Times, 6 Dec 2021, not January 2022), Taveo rebrand (18 Sep 2023) and JMG Group purchase of Taveo's broking trade (Insurance Business, 20 Oct 2025); removed 'reportedly' hedges and resolved date questions.
