2026 reality
Montoux is in liquidation: after FIS sued Montoux Inc. and Montoux Ltd. in Delaware in November 2024 for alleged trade-secret misappropriation, the company was placed into liquidation in late 2024 (reportedly 29 November 2024) and its foreign representative sought Chapter 15 recognition in Delaware. Its marketing website remained online on 2026-10-17 without any liquidation notice, but no evidence of continuing operations or an asset buyer was found.
Built a US presence through partnerships (Haven Life; Scottish Widows in the UK, 2019) and later broadened from pricing into model replication and migration, automated experience studies and an AI 'Model Copilot' for actuaries. FIS's lawsuit alleged that the Model Replication Module copied its Prophet actuarial software; Montoux attributed its financial collapse to the US litigation. The allegations have not been ruled on in the sources found.
an example of an actuarial-modelling challenger whose push into replacing incumbent actuarial platforms triggered litigation that ended the company; cloud and AI actuarial tooling remains an active category served by others.
