Swiss Fintech Innovations (SFTI) working group, launched in July 2021, to create open, standardised APIs for Swiss occupational pension funds (2nd pillar), involving pension funds, insurers, banks and software providers, so that applications could increase pension transparency and speed up HR processes.
2026 reality
OpenPK no longer runs as a separate project: its project website does not respond (2026-10-17). According to SFTI, the 'established and successfully implemented' OpenPK API standard is transitioning to the SFTI Common API, where it is managed as a stream, and the OpenPK and Pension Cockpit working groups were combined into the SFTI Open Pension working group, which published a position paper (apparently April 2024) on making pension data available across all Swiss pillars.
Kicked off in July 2021 under Michael Müller (Acrea) to define scope, API governance and a first proof of concept; the resulting API standard was implemented and later folded into SFTI's Common API, while the working group's agenda broadened from 2nd-pillar interfaces to open pension data across all pillars.
