2026 reality
Everledger Limited (UK, company 09536102) is in liquidation: a creditors' voluntary winding up commenced on 20 April 2023 and a compulsory winding up on 28 June 2023 with the Official Receiver. The website remains reachable but its newest dated content is from February 2023.
Before its collapse, Everledger broadened from diamonds to a general 'digital transparency' platform covering gemstones, art, wine and spirits, fashion, luxury goods, batteries (battery passports), and critical minerals; the UK company then entered liquidation in 2023.
diversification beyond diamonds and insurance into ESG and supply-chain traceability did not produce a sustainable business before funding ran out.
a widely cited early blockchain-for-insurance use case (provenance against claims fraud); historically significant, no longer active.
