wefox Switzerland AG is a retail insurance distributor with over 100,000 active customers and advisers in four offices, offering free '360° Beratung' across health, life, P&C, and business lines from partner insurers; existing customers can file claims online. The wefox Group now operates only in Switzerland, Austria (broker platform), and the Netherlands (term-life MGA).
The group expanded across Europe and into its own carrier (wefox Insurance AG), then restructured in 2024-2025: it exited Germany (July 2024), agreed to sell wefox Insurance AG to a BERAG-led Swiss group (December 2024), sold a run-off portfolio to DARAG (January 2025) and its Italian units to J.C. Flowers (May 2025), then raised EUR 151 million in equity and refinanced debt (July 2025) for an MGA and distribution strategy. In Switzerland, the offer is now framed around adviser-led holistic consultation rather than the original app.
