As catalogued
A Berlin keyless smart-entry system for buildings, sold with an integrated key-loss insurance from exclusive partner Allianz: a co-created bundle of a digitised object and embedded cover.
2026 reality
KIWI.KI GmbH (Berlin, HRB 140349 B) sells keyless access hardware (smart knobs, cylinders, transponders, smart entry) and software (KIWI Portal, App, API) for apartment buildings, © 2026. Its website makes no mention of insurance. In July 2025 it reported its most successful half-year, with access solutions sold for nearly 15,000 doors, gates and barriers.
The access-control business continues and has raised more than EUR 26 million in total; Swiss building-products group Arbonia took a stake of about 46% at the end of 2023. The Allianz key-loss insurance bundle is no longer visible on the website; whether it was formally discontinued is not established.
KIWI is a property-technology access provider with no visible insurance component in 2026. The catalogued innovation, insurance embedded in a smart-access product, is relevant only as an early embedded-insurance co-creation example.
Third taxonomy
REVIEW · Verified the Arbonia stake (~46% since end-2023), the record H1 2025 and the >EUR 26m funding via deutsche-startups.de; a search found no current KIWI/Allianz key-loss bundle. Removed the unsupported 'embedded' business-model code; REVIEWED because the fate of the insurance element is unresolved.
