As catalogued
Zurich's direct online insurance brand (Italy), selling motor and other personal cover online with digital claims submission.
2026 reality
Zurich Connect no longer sells online motor insurance in Italy. zurich-connect.it redirects to a Zurich Italia page for current and former Zurich Connect customers, which states that the Zurich Connect app is no longer available in app stores and points customers to phone/email service and the Zurich One customer area.
Zurich Insurance Company Ltd withdrew Zurich Connect from direct online motor insurance in Italy in autumn 2024: quotes and renewal offers for car, motorcycle and van cover stopped on 6 September 2024, IVASS recorded the lapse of its motor-liability authorisation the same day, and new online motor sales ended on 6 November 2024, affecting about 150,000 customers. Existing policies and claims are serviced until expiry.
according to press coverage citing Milano Finanza, Zurich chose to concentrate on its physical network of agents and financial advisers; direct online motor insurance in Italy had negative technical results (IVASS reported a 111% loss ratio in 2022 for mainly direct insurers) that tariff rises had not offset.
once one of Italy's main direct online motor insurers, Zurich Connect is now an example of incumbents retreating from loss-making direct channels in favour of agency networks.

REVIEW · Verified the 2024 motor exit dates, IVASS provision no. 0203123, the 150,000 customers and the Milano Finanza rationale via SicurAUTO, and confirmed the zurich-connect.it redirect and the app withdrawal on zurich.it. Clarified the renewal-deadline wording in the closure milestone.
