The digital property inspection & reporting platform. Better Inspections
What became of it

As catalogued
Mobile field app, dashboard and standardised 'Spex Report' for digital property inspections by adjusters, TPAs and restoration contractors, replacing paper-based inspection documentation.
2026 reality
The spexreport.com domain no longer resolves (October 2026). Spex has been majority-owned by consulting firm J.S. Held since May 2017. A Capterra listing for the 'Spex Insurance Inspection App' (mobile inspections for carriers, TPAs, adjusters and restoration firms) remains online, but no current standalone product site was found, and company databases give conflicting signals about whether it is still active.
J.S. Held made a majority investment in May 2017 with the management team retained. What happened to the product afterwards could not be established.
an early example of an insurtech tool being bought by a claims consulting firm to digitise its own service delivery rather than scaled as independent SaaS.
Third taxonomy
REVIEW · Verified the May 2017 J.S. Held majority investment and 2012 founding via R&R Magazine; removed unsupported founding details (Denver, 'adjuster', partners). Product's 2026 status remains unresolved, so REVIEWED rather than COMPLETED.
