What became of it

As catalogued
Generali Switzerland's start-up brand for on-demand insurance: short-term, fully digital cover without deductible (initially for photo equipment and electronic devices, later also bikes and drones, insurable by the day only when in use) activated 'with one click'.
2026 reality
LINGS remains a Generali Switzerland brand on paper: Generali's structure page names its subsidiary House of Insurtech Switzerland (HITS), which ran LINGS, and HITS is listed as existing in the commercial register (last publication April 2026). www.lings.ch still serves a JavaScript-rendered Salesforce web app with registration, product, payment, voucher and claims functions, but no product content could be read, no LINGS app is listed in the Swiss App Store, and no 2024-2026 coverage was found, so whether it still sells policies is unverified.
LINGS launched in November 2017 as a Generali Switzerland start-up, initially as a beta MVP according to its then CEO Kai-Nicholas Kunze; it was later run by Generali's insurtech subsidiary HITS (spun into a separate company in December 2019), and Generali announced a B2B2C partnership under which users of Bank Cler's Zak banking app could buy LINGS day cover in the app. No later developments were found.
part of the 2017-2019 wave of incumbent-backed on-demand insurance apps in Europe; the Zak tie-up was an early Swiss example of embedding such cover in a banking app.
Third taxonomy
REVIEW · Confirmed www.lings.ch is still live and that Generali describes HITS as the subsidiary behind LINGS (search snippet of the redirected release); whether policies are still sold is unverified, so status stays REVIEWED/low with no changes.
