2026 reality
ONE no longer exists as a brand: one-insurance.eu redirects to wefox.com (October 2026). The Liechtenstein carrier, renamed wefox Insurance AG in 2021, is now VIA Versicherung AG and, per wefox, no longer part of the wefox Group; wefox had agreed in December 2024 to sell it to a BERAG-led Swiss consortium to focus on collective daily sickness benefits insurance. Its run-off motor, private liability and property portfolio was transferred to DARAG (announced January 2025) and the Polish branch portfolio to Direct pojišťovna (28 March 2025).
ONE Insurance was rebranded wefox Insurance by March 2021, keeping existing contracts; its digital home, liability and motor products were then offered in Germany, Poland, Italy and Switzerland. wefox withdrew from Germany (announced June 2024), placed the retail lines in run-off with DARAG, transferred the Polish portfolio, and sold the carrier, which left the group and now operates as VIA Versicherung AG focused on collective daily sickness cover.
wefox's retreat from balance-sheet risk in its retail lines (amid the group's well-publicised losses and restructuring) made a capital-intensive B2C carrier non-core; selling it to its Swiss MGA partner preserved the one profitable niche.
