Innovation intelligence brief
Our solutions help deliver on the promise made to policyholders by bridging gaps between life insurance policies and payment to their intended beneficiaries. LifeDB helps life insurance companies prepare for legislation on unclaimed life insurance property and enables our clients to stay in compliance, resulting in more efficient audit preparation.
What became of it
Blocked · Low confidence · Last verified 2026-10-17
Research is blocked: there was not enough public evidence to establish what became of this innovation. Nothing below should be read as a verified 2026 status.
As catalogued
Des Moines start-up LifeDB LLC (founders Brent Williams, Scott Venerable and Jason Dively) building a searchable database and notification system to connect life insurance policies with their intended beneficiaries, plus a planned third-party verification service for insurers (BeneCertify) to support compliance with unclaimed-benefit rules.
2026 reality
No operating LifeDB product or company website was found. The catalog URL already pointed to a domain-for-sale page (lifeinsurancedatabase.com on domainmarket.com), and the only company-specific coverage found is a Business Record profile of the founding plans and a May 2015 trade profile describing a planned subscription-and-fee model charged to insurers. CB Insights lists LifeDB's stage as 'Dead' (database entry only, no closure notice).
No evidence was found that LifeDB or BeneCertify launched commercially or that the company was acquired.
death-record matching for unclaimed life benefits became a compliance service offered by established vendors (e.g. CSC/DXC-type solutions), leaving little room for a small stand-alone start-up.
REVIEW · Re-searched LifeDB/BeneCertify: only 2015 accelerator profiles and a CB Insights 'Dead' entry found; added that database source, kept BLOCKED with unclear status per the rule that databases cannot alone establish a closure.
