As catalogued
London-based computer-vision AI that assesses vehicle (and disaster) damage from photos to estimate repair costs, letting insurers triage and settle accident claims faster and more consistently.
2026 reality
Tractable is an independent, venture-backed company still focused on AI damage assessment for motor and property claims. In 2026 it announced inclusion in the Everest Group Top 50 P&C insurance technology providers (March), a renewed partnership with Covéa (April) and a motor-claims partnership with Foyer (May). Its site also targets dealerships, repairers, recyclers and fleet/rental companies.
The original claims-assessment model remains, extended beyond insurer claims into adjacent use cases: property assessment, vehicle condition inspection (LumaScanner), salvaged-parts identification for recyclers, and offerings for dealers, repairers and fleets, delivered partly via open APIs. Funding included a USD 60M Series D at a USD 1B valuation (2021) and a USD 65M Series E led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2 (July 2023).
one of the reference vendors for AI motor-claims estimating, with large carrier deployments in Europe, Japan and the US; competitive pressure comes from claims-platform incumbents (e.g. CCC, Solera) adding similar AI.
