Innovation intelligence brief
Added by the 2026 Swiss InsurTech research (issue #41) from public sources, not by the original academic study (Stoeckli, Dremel & Uebernickel). Its 2016 and 2017 classifications apply the original taxonomy definitions but were not validated by that study. All innovations in this cohort · Methodology ↗
App combining robo-advisory and salaried advisers to analyse, manage and optimise a Swiss household's pensions, insurance policies and taxes, with an automated insurance comparison ('Insur-Rating') that monitors risks and optimises policies, and reminders when action is due.
Research profile · Swiss Innovation · 2021–2026
Classification notes · Insurance is central: the launch release calls pensions and insurance the core of the service, the statutory purpose is insurance-mandate advice and brokerage, and the 2026 site offers a broker mandate, insurance checks and an own death-benefit product. Specificity 'pure-insurtech' is a judgement (cf. catalogued Moneyguru as part-of-portfolio). Strategic evolution 'expanded' with line expansion rests on the new death-benefit insurance and the broadening to investments and real estate; the 2026 positioning emphasises holistic financial planning. Broker registration, the carrier of the death-benefit product, and how the free broker mandate is remunerated are not verified.

At launch
Commission-free, app-based combined pension, insurance and tax optimisation for Swiss households, with automated insurance rating and reminders.
2026 reality
Caveo's website presents it as independent digital financial planning by certified planners at a fixed price, covering pensions, insurance, taxes, real estate and investments. For insurance it offers 'Versicherungstreuhand' under a free broker mandate or a CHF 99 annual no-mandate plan, health and life insurance checks, and a newly launched, digitally concluded Caveo death-benefit insurance (carrier not named). According to the company it has more than 4,500 customers and is 'FINMA & ARIF-certified'.
Since the 2024 launch the offer has broadened from pension, insurance and tax optimisation to holistic financial planning (including real estate and investments), with a free broker-mandate model for insurance and an own-branded death-benefit insurance product (launch date not given). The company moved from Zurich to Schlieren in November 2024.
positions against commission-driven Swiss insurance and pension sales with a fee model; small scale relative to broker apps and banks' pension tools.
Third taxonomy
REVIEW · Confirmed that insurance is central, not only pensions and tax (launch release, Zefix purpose, 2026 broker-mandate and death-benefit pages). Added Zefix and two caveo.ch subpages. Business model corrected: the free broker mandate and CHF 99 no-mandate plan are now described. Strategic evolution changed from 'retained' to 'expanded' (line expansion), with the 2019 founding and the 2024 seat move added as milestones.
