Innovation intelligence brief
Innovation intelligence brief
Added by the 2026 Swiss InsurTech research (issue #41) from public sources, not by the original academic study (Stoeckli, Dremel & Uebernickel). Its 2016 and 2017 classifications apply the original taxonomy definitions but were not validated by that study. All innovations in this cohort · Methodology ↗
Broker-facing parametric insurance toolkit that lets brokers and risk managers visualise, structure and model parametric climate and nat-cat covers (initially hurricane and earthquake triggers, now also heat, freeze, flood and drought) using global hazard datasets, stochastic event sets and historical data, and calculate expected losses.
Research profile · Swiss Innovation · 2021–2026
Classification notes · Company founded 2008; the record covers the in-window broker platform (Nov 2024), not the company as a whole. Company-status 'independent' is based on the absence of any acquisition evidence (ownership not disclosed). Maturity 'unclear' because no adoption figures were found. Roles 'start-up' + 'service-provider' follow the catalog's use of 'start-up' for insurtech firms; the firm is not a risk carrier itself for this product.

At launch
A broker-facing self-service toolkit to structure and test parametric climate/nat-cat structures with global datasets and stochastic modelling, aimed at cutting deal structuring time and improving quote-to-bind ratios.
2026 reality
ParameterPro is presented on CelsiusPro's website in 2026 as its parametric insurance toolkit for brokers, covering tropical cyclone, earthquake, heat, freeze, flood and drought (wildfire and tornado in the pipeline). CelsiusPro's news page shows continued parametric activity through 2026 (ECOM partnership for Indonesian farmers, January 2026; MS Amlin joining the Natural Disaster Fund as capacity provider, June 2026).
The original model remains substantially intact; the peril coverage of the toolkit grew from hurricane and earthquake at launch to further perils listed on the product page in 2026 (incremental feature growth).
moves CelsiusPro's long-standing parametric pricing know-how (QuotePro 2011, white-label insurer platform) into a broker structuring tool; relevant as parametric demand grows, though comparable modelling tools exist at large brokers and reinsurers.
Third taxonomy
REVIEW · All five sources resolve and support their claims. Added the official ParameterPro product page and imprint (Zurich registration since 2008) as primary sources for Swiss connection and 2026 status; corrected the unresolved note (the official product page exists at /parametric-insurance-toolkit). Extended reality2026 with the 2026 peril list and added the Feb 2025 news milestone.
