Innovation intelligence brief
Added by the 2026 Swiss InsurTech research (issue #41) from public sources, not by the original academic study (Stoeckli, Dremel & Uebernickel). Its 2016 and 2017 classifications apply the original taxonomy definitions but were not validated by that study. All innovations in this cohort · Methodology ↗
Ada's AI symptom assessment and care navigation built into the Groupe Mutuel app and customer area: members check symptoms 24/7 in four languages and get a recommendation for care covered by their policy; for the PrimaFlex and SanaTel alternative basic-insurance models Ada is one of the first points of contact and issues a 30-day referral voucher.
Research profile · Swiss Innovation · 2021–2026
Classification notes · Maturity 'established' because the service is a standing part of Groupe Mutuel's member services and its alternative models in 2026; usage figures beyond the 2024 release are not public. Value chain left without 'claims' although the referral voucher conditions reimbursement under some models.

Policy-aware AI triage: the recommendation takes the member's insurance plan into account and issues a referral voucher for reimbursement.
2026 reality
Groupe Mutuel's service page in 2026 still offers Ada free of charge in the app and customer area, as a first point of contact for the PrimaFlex and SanaTel models with referral vouchers; it states that health data entered in Ada are not shared with Groupe Mutuel. According to the 2024 announcement, the share of members unsure which care to seek fell by 59%, and more than half of uses happen outside clinic hours.
The original model remains substantially intact.
links AI triage directly to policy coverage and reimbursement rather than giving generic health advice, a step toward insurer-run care navigation.
Third taxonomy
REVIEW · Added Groupe Mutuel's Ada service page, which confirms the 2026 status and shows Ada is the referral-voucher entry point for the PrimaFlex and SanaTel models; mission and reality2026 updated accordingly. Maturity changed from 'scaling' to 'established' (no growth evidence; standing service). Launch evidence hedged (go-live may precede the release). swissConnection type normalised to 'development'.
