Innovation intelligence brief
Added by the 2026 Swiss InsurTech research (issue #41) from public sources, not by the original academic study (Stoeckli, Dremel & Uebernickel). Its 2016 and 2017 classifications apply the original taxonomy definitions but were not validated by that study. All innovations in this cohort · Methodology ↗
B2B2C platform that embeds travel and other insurance into online travel agencies', tour operators' and other digital platforms' purchase flows and automates sales and claims with AI; since 2026 it also operates as an MGA with its own products.
Research profile · Swiss Innovation · 2021–2026
Classification notes · Sits between a B2B travel-insurance technology vendor (launch) and an embedded insurance MGA (2026). 'took-on-risk' follows the taxonomy definition (became an MGA); balance-sheet risk stays with carriers, which are not named. 'line-expansion' rests on the company website only. Geographic expansion is not coded because the launch footprint is not documented. Company metrics (100,000+ customers, claims in minutes, 80% cost reduction) are company statements. The Swiss connection is origin and seat in Lausanne; operations are increasingly run from Ireland.
What became of it

At launch
AI-automated travel insurance sales and claims embedded into travel booking flows, reported to cut claims processing from weeks to minutes.
2026 reality
Active. According to the company (April 2026), over 100,000 customers have held policies powered by its technology, it operates in Italy, the Netherlands and the DACH region, more than doubled revenue in 2025 and is launching MGA operations across Europe from Dublin. The 2026 website presents embedded insurance products for travel, banking/fintech, telco/consumer electronics and mobility platforms and names an Irish-registered operating entity.
Expanded from AI-automated travel insurance sales and claims for travel insurers and online travel agencies to an embedded insurance MGA that creates and operates its own products (April 2026), with product lines beyond travel shown on its website.
owning the product as an MGA lets the company capture more of the premium economics than a pure software/service role.
a young Swiss example of the European embedded-travel-insurance MGA model; scale is still small.
Third taxonomy
REVIEW · Verifier: merged with the seg2 alternative version. Replaced the inaccessible Techleap source (403) with the original startupticker.ch article and added Moneyhouse register data (Insurteam SA, Lausanne) to confirm the Swiss entity; GGBa retyped from official to industry. Swiss connection kept but now notes the Irish operating entity. Business-model shift: removed geographic-expansion (launch footprint undocumented), added line-expansion; technology adds automation-led. REVIEWED because carriers, the Swiss/Irish entity relationship and traction figures rest on company statements.
