Innovation intelligence brief
Innovation intelligence brief
Added by the 2026 Swiss InsurTech research (issue #41) from public sources, not by the original academic study (Stoeckli, Dremel & Uebernickel). Its 2016 and 2017 classifications apply the original taxonomy definitions but were not validated by that study. All innovations in this cohort · Methodology ↗
Fully digital comparison and switching of Swiss basic health insurance: users upload a photo/PDF of their current policy, AI-supported recognition simulates next-year premiums and savings, and the new application and cancellation letter are generated, digitally signed and sent automatically; supplementary-insurance offers come from partner insurers.
Research profile · Swiss Innovation · 2021–2026
Classification notes · Health-insurance line but a distribution and comparison innovation. Revenue model is not stated; the free service and partner-insurer offers suggest commissions (not confirmed). The January 2026 go-live and the 2025 award come from company-controlled sources only. The October 2026 switching launch is an extension of the same product within the launch year, so strategic evolution stays retained.

At launch
Claims to be the first solution that automates the entire basic health insurance switching process end to end, from policy upload to cancellation, without paper or phone brokerage.
2026 reality
Live; in October 2026 it launched end-to-end digital switching for basic health insurance ahead of the 2027 premium round, with footballer Yann Sommer as investor and partner. The website offers a free AI-supported policy check and comparison and supplementary-insurance offers from partner insurers; a co-founder post reports hundreds of offers and comparisons created after go-live.
The original model remains substantially intact.
targets the annual Swiss health-insurance switching season with a paperless, upload-based flow that contrasts with form-heavy comparison sites; very early stage.
Third taxonomy
REVIEW · Verifier: launch date moved from 2026-10 to 2026-01 (co-founder post: platform went live at the start of 2026; October 2026 is the switching launch). Added the Impressum (SnapCheck GmbH, Eggersriet SG, register number) and the co-founder's LinkedIn post as sources. Still thin: one independent press source; REVIEWED.
