Innovation intelligence brief
Innovation intelligence brief
Added by the 2026 Swiss InsurTech research (issue #41) from public sources, not by the original academic study (Stoeckli, Dremel & Uebernickel). Its 2016 and 2017 classifications apply the original taxonomy definitions but were not validated by that study. All innovations in this cohort · Methodology ↗
Extension of the JAROWA claims marketplace with Mira's drag-and-drop contract builder, which converts policy wording into a machine-executable 'smart contract' so that claims intake asks only case-relevant questions and coverage checks, damage valuation and settlement run automatically before repair providers are dispatched.
Research profile · Swiss Innovation · 2021–2026
Classification notes · 'Smart contract' here denotes machine-executable policy logic, not blockchain, so no DLT leaf or blockchain code is assigned. The record covers the coverage-check capability added to the 2017 JAROWA marketplace, not the marketplace itself. strategic-evolution kept 'retained': the planned Mira carve-out is described only in a research-project page and no new legal entity was found in Zefix; revisit if a separate Mira company or offer appears.
What became of it
Completed · High confidence · Last verified 2026-10-18
At launch
Automated coverage checking and claims calculation against digitised policy wording, embedded in an end-to-end claims and repair-provider marketplace, so that the claim form asks only case-relevant questions and settlement follows the contract text.
2026 reality
Yarowa offers claims, service-provider and order management for insurers plus leasing/fleet and property-management solutions; according to the company 80+ insurers and 12,000+ service providers use its networks, with up to 45% lower process costs. The platform advertises AI-supported checks of quotes and invoices (including policy conformity) and ISO 27001/9001 certification. A ZHAW/Innosuisse project started in March 2026 to add AI modules to Mira's logic engine.
JAROWA was renamed Yarowa AG (2023). Mitra Solutions AG moved to Zug and was merged into Yarowa AG (deleted from the register in December 2025). The 2026 ZHAW project describes Mira as a carved-out entity to be commercialised as 'Claim Determination as a Service' under a future CEO.
couples policy-logic automation with a provider marketplace, so coverage decision and repair dispatch happen in one flow, which few claims tools in the DACH market combine.
Third taxonomy
REVIEW · Confirmed JAROWA is not in the catalog under any name. Dated the JAROWA-to-Yarowa rebrand from Zefix (2023, not 2026) and added the 2025 merger of Mitra Solutions into Yarowa and the 2026 ZHAW/Innosuisse project. Removed unverified office locations (Munich, London, Milan) and the CEO '45% cheaper' quote (the 45% figure is a company claim on the 2026 website).
