What became of it

As catalogued
A mobile insurance manager, developed by the Berlin software company Dionera, that put all of a customer's policies and documents on the smartphone. It was white-labelled for broker pools (blau direkt, Arisecur, Finanz-Zirkel) and gave brokers a digital customer channel.
2026 reality
simplr is a free digital insurance manager (iOS, Android, web), and the site is copyrighted 2026 by blau direkt GmbH. Customers can view contracts and documents, upload policy photos, sign contracts digitally, update personal data and use comparison calculators. Logins are issued by the customer's insurance or finance advisor. The App Store lists blau direkt Berlin GmbH as the developer.
simplr launched in December 2015 as blau direkt's customer app, built by Berlin developer Dionera and white-labelled for other pools (Arisecur, Finanz-Zirkel). In 2026 it is run by blau direkt GmbH, with digital signing, data updates and comparison calculators added; the broker-linked policy-overview model remains substantially intact. blau direkt itself moved under Warburg Pincus majority ownership (holding structure announced 2022), and in 2026 Warburg Pincus took over Netfonds to combine it with blau direkt.
simplr survives as the captive customer app of one of Germany's largest broker pools. Its relevance depends on blau direkt's advisor network rather than on a standalone consumer brand.

REVIEW · Verified simplr site (blau direkt, 2026), 2015 launch and Dionera's developer role, and the 2026 Warburg Pincus/Netfonds transaction via Cash.Online and Legal500-cited coverage. Changed company-status from independent to acquired because Warburg Pincus took a majority of blau direkt (2022 holding, 65% planned); added launch and 2022 milestones.
