As catalogued
App-based bonus programme of Swiss health insurer Helsana, launched in September 2017: members collect Plus points for exercise, prevention, club membership and loyalty (with automatic activity import from Apple Health or Google Fit) and can convert them into cash (over CHF 300 per year), described by Helsana as the first Swiss health-market bonus programme paying out cash directly.
2026 reality
Helsana+ remains active as an app. Customers with supplementary insurance (full version) can collect up to 30,000 points a year, redeemable for cash, vouchers or donations (over CHF 300); basic-insurance-only customers (basic version) up to 7,500 points (about CHF 75). Activities sync from Apple Health, Google Fit, Fitbit, Garmin, Polar, Withings and Suunto, and partners (e.g. Galaxus, Zalando, Migros, SBB) give monthly discounts. Helsana states that the conditions of use will be adjusted from 1 January 2027.
The original model remains substantially intact. In March 2019 the Federal Administrative Court largely rejected the data-protection commissioner's challenge, allowing cash bonuses for basic-insurance-only customers to continue (with signed rather than one-click consent); a capped basic version for these customers now exists alongside the full version. Wearable integrations and partner discounts were added.
one of the most visible health-reward programmes in Swiss health insurance and a legal reference case for bonus payments to basic-insurance customers.

REVIEW · Verified the Helsana+ page (30,000/7,500 point caps, wearables, partners, conditions adjusted from 1 Jan 2027) and the 28 Mar 2019 Federal Administrative Court ruling via Helsana's release; no changes.
