2026 reality
The standalone Sanitas Active app no longer exists; its concept lives on as the 'Active' function in the Health Navigator area of the Sanitas Portal app, where customers connect a fitness tracker or smartphone, earn coins for physical activity and redeem them for vouchers or donations. The only Sanitas (Switzerland) app in the Swiss App Store in October 2026 is Sanitas Portal.
In November 2021 the Swiss consumer protection foundation (SKS) rated Sanitas Active worst among six insurer apps and recommended deleting it, citing health-data sharing and discrimination concerns. Sanitas announced that from the end of September 2022 coins could be collected directly in the Sanitas Portal app, folding the activity-reward programme into its general customer app.
one of the more visible Swiss health-insurer activity-reward schemes; it survives only as a feature of the insurer's customer portal, and the 2021 consumer-protection criticism illustrates the regulatory and social limits of behaviour-based rewards in Swiss health insurance.
