Peer-to-peer coverage platform in which teammates vote on each other's claims and pay out of their own crypto wallets, with blockchain-based transparency and no central insurer.
2026 reality
Status not established: teambrella.com refused connections at the time of research, no coverage after 2017 was found, and a startup database flags Teambrella (created 2015) as probably no longer active.
Developed by a Russian team (Alex Paperno, Eugene Porubaev, Vlad Kravchuk) as a bitcoin-based P2P coverage platform with a pre-launch demo in September 2016; by September 2017 it had moved from Bitcoin to Ethereum multisig wallets because of rising Bitcoin fees and had launched its first live teams: pet cover in Peru and Argentina and bicycle cover in the Netherlands. Later developments were not found.
a pure example of decentralised, claims-voting P2P coverage; such models remained niche.
REVIEW · Verified the 2016 Bitcoin Magazine coverage; searches found nothing after 2017 and teambrella.com still does not connect. Status stays BLOCKED with no content changes.
