Innovation intelligence brief
Innovation intelligence brief
Added by the 2026 Swiss InsurTech research (issue #41) from public sources, not by the original academic study (Stoeckli, Dremel & Uebernickel). Its 2016 and 2017 classifications apply the original taxonomy definitions but were not validated by that study. All innovations in this cohort · Methodology ↗
Generative-AI sales tool that analyses a prospect's existing policies from other insurers in real time and automatically produces a tailored Baloise counteroffer that the customer can sign during the adviser meeting.
Research profile · Swiss Innovation · 2021–2026
Classification notes · Technology 'ai-enhanced' (GenAI augments the conventional adviser sales process) rather than ai-native. Maturity set to 'unclear' (was experimental): Baloise's Swiss insurers merged into Helvetia on 1 July 2026 and new contracts are issued in Helvetia's name; whether AI Concierge continues in the merged distribution was not verified. Company status kept 'corporate-initiative' (Helvetia Baloise group).

At launch
GenAI reading competitors' policy documents to generate a like-for-like counteroffer on the spot in adviser meetings.
2026 reality
As of November 2025 deployed in motor insurance, with roll-out to other products announced. On 1 July 2026 Baloise Versicherung AG merged into Helvetia Schweizerische Versicherungsgesellschaft AG; new contracts are issued by Helvetia. The tool's status after the merger was not verified.
The original model remains substantially intact.
applies GenAI to the switching moment in tied-agent sales rather than to service, a less common use case among Swiss incumbents.
Third taxonomy
REVIEW · Replaced the Finanzwire copy with Baloise's own release (same text as the EQS German copy). No independent coverage found: Handelszeitung's award tag page only carries a teaser and Simply Wall St restates the release; claims are hedged as company statements. Added the Helvetia merger (1 July 2026) source and milestone; replaced the unsourced 'unified Helvetia market launch' wording; maturity experimental -> unclear.
Research interpretation
